Frequently asked questions.

Can I do these sessions with my best friend/partner?

Since no two individuals are exactly alike, it's best to focus on one person per session. Even if we were to schedule back-to-back sessions with both of you present, the overlapping energies could create distractions, and the temptation to interrupt, remind, or even gently chide your partner during their organic reactions may disrupt the process. It’s essential to create a safe space free from self-editing, allowing each person to fully engage in their own journey.

I’ve been working on myself for years and am not only a masterful tarot reader but I’ve invested in my shadow work for quite some time now. Do I still need to complete level 1 in order to start level 2?

First and foremost, congratulations on your continued dedication to your personal growth—this is truly a wonderful investment in yourself. You’ll likely agree that a fresh perspective can help illuminate areas that may have been overlooked. While Level 1 requires vulnerability, Level 2 deepens that journey, as I will not only witness your personal goals but also observe, in real time, how faithfully you honor your commitments to yourself. Because we are human, there will be goals you will ignore or put off and it will be important to discuss the underlying motivation for such sabotage. The familiarity we’ve established in Level 1 will foster a unique shorthand in our communication, allowing us to dive deeper and process even more information efficiently in Level 2. Without it, the likelihood of reassuring you there is no judgment, etc., will take up precious time in our sessions.

Why a sketchbook for level 2 and not a lined book?

You’ll be asked to draw the card you get for each week. It doesn’t have to be perfect. I don’t even have to see it. Even if it is you putting the card on the paper and tracing around its edges and writing the name of the card inside the rectangle, it works. The purpose of contributing this way is it helps your mind to have visual and written cues when trying to establish new habits such as the habit of consistent introspection and accountability. If lines are important to you, feel free to get lined paper or a large bullet journal. But I’m going to encourage some doodling and writing little lists all over the place. The lines might muddy things a bit. Ultimately it is your choice.

I’m curious about Tarot and divination in general but I’m anxious about things like witchcraft and magic. Especially black magic. Does this fall under that label?

I get this question a lot and I understand your concern. It’s a lot to go into here but basically, you do not have to be a witch to use divination materials. Magic is available to everyone regardless of how and who you worship or don’t worship. Even an atheist can get a tarot card reading, for example. As for black magic, there are many differing views on the separation of magic into two parts: white and black magic. I do not subscribe to dividing magic that way. To me, and my particular practice, magic is magic and is used for a variety of purposes. It is our personal bespoke journey to navigate.

Having said that, I will say that although I have been referred to as a witch, I find that term a bit limiting for what I do. I prefer the term occultist. You do not have to be one to work with me. You just have to be open to working on your wounds and limiting beliefs concerning what you yourself are capable of. In the past I have worked with people from all walks of life, and from various religions. I find it doesn’t get in the way of the solid work that can be done with these sessions.

Do you believe in God?

I used to be Christian but I work with other gods now. I no longer center Christianity as the basis for what I believe but it’s more than fine if my clients do. I’ve worked with people with all sorts of belief systems. It’s not an issue.

If I have questions about the occult during our sessions will you answer them?

I’ll gladly answer any question so long as it is asked in good faith.

How do I know you aren’t trying to recruit me?

I like to help people get out of the circumstances they feel stuck in. I just happen to be an occultist.

You have a service offering folks help with deconstructing their religious beliefs. Are you sure you’re not trying to recruit?

I’m absolutely sure I’m not trying to recruit. I think of deconstruction much like a divorce. There’s guilt, fear and concern that you are leaving your faith for selfish, even evil reasons. I offer support in helping to clarify your feelings because I’ve been there. It took me several years to deconstruct. It was a painful process and I had little support. This led to a variety of unfortunate circumstances that were avoidable had I had someone to talk to who understood my angst. I didn’t run straight into the occult either. My studying older religions is not only an entirely separate choice, it was an eventual thing that didn’t begin until years after I deconstructed. Besides, leaving one religion and diving head first into another is like marrying again straight after a divorce. It’s not something I’d ever recommend.

Are you a cat person or a dog person?

Sir, this is a Wendy’s.

Do people really ask you all these questions?

Yes and you should see the ones they asked that I’ve omitted.
